Cleveland Coke Secures New Business!

We are pleased to announce we have secured the beverage rights for the Cleveland Clinic. The Clinic serves millions of consumers and 45,000 employees in Northeast Ohio. This is a huge opportunity for our organization that will help us achieve our goal of being the Number 1 beverage company in Cuyahoga County. The Cleveland Clinic is very influential in our territory and provides us with the opportunity to gain new business through this association.

This accomplishment was truly a team effort from Bill Jastrzembski opening the door and creating interest, the collaboration with Coca Cola Refreshments to develop a sustainable program and the many hours of work by all departments to help us through the negotiation process. I want to personally thank everyone for their part in this process that started in 2013. We were able to represent how we will be a better supplier who will help the Clinic increase their revenues through superior brands, targeted marketing and daily service.

I can not stress enough that everything we do today moving forward will determine the tone for the next contract. When we deliver superior service which includes: selling, programming, delivery, cooler service, quality products, 100% order accuracy and financial functions the Clinic's decision will be very easy. I know we have the team that can consistently deliver this vision to our new customer.

Cleveland Coca-Cola Gets the Ball Rolling for a Fun Active Summer

Cleveland Coke Gets the Ball Rolling
On Monday, September 16th Cleveland Coke employees and local civic leaders from neighboring municipalities (Mayors, Firefighters, and Policemen) participated in an afternoon of fun and excitement.  This initiative was designed to actively play, run, jump, and find happiness by being outdoors and active. Participants engaged in bean bag toss, bocce ball, soccer obstacle course and football toss. We had an exciting event!  So much so one of our soccer balls remains perched (40” high) in our lovely tree on the front lawn!

Reducing Energy Use through Energy Grant

The Cleveland Coca-Cola Bottling Company Inc. has been awarded an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Grant totaling $133,914, to help improve energy efficiency at its bottling plant in Bedford Heights.  The Grant is a 50% cost match for a new energy efficient ammonia condenser system and compressed air system at our facility.  The Grant was made possible by working with the Ohio Department of Development’s Office of Energy, through participation in the Energy Efficiency Program for Manufactures.

The Grant will be used to help Cleveland Coca-Cola reduce energy use in our manufacturing process and improve our overall product quality.

Science Day at Booker Elementary

Students at Booker Elementary School received a generous donation of clear 2 liter bottles with caps for their Science Day.  This event which was held at a school on the west side of Cleveland went very well.  Each student was given a kit to take home that included a 2 liter bottle to create their own ecosystem!

St. Martin De Porres Partnership

The Corporate Work Study Program is also an integral component of the mission of Saint Martin De Porres High School, which is to transform urban Cleveland one student at a time. The workplace learning that each student experiences is an integral part of his or her development as a scholar, as a professional, and as a person. Students work in job-sharing teams of four to cover a standard business week, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., annually from Labor Day through the third week in June. The academic schedules are structured so that students are available to work without missing a class. This relevant work experience not only provides students with the opportunity to contribute financially to their education, but it reinforces in them the thinking strategies and lifelong learning behaviors emphasized in the classroom. The workplace experience allows students to apply and make connections from the classroom to the world of work.  This unique combination of classroom learning and workplace learning prepares students for success in high school, in college, and in the years to come.
